Everyone talks about how AI makes startups easier to build.

That’s true, but it’s not the most important change.

For the last 20 years, the bottleneck was execution.

You needed engineers to build, designers to design, analysts to research, and operators to keep everything moving. A startup grew by adding people.

AI is collapsing those costs.

Today, a founder can research a market, build a prototype, create marketing assets, automate operations, and launch a product with a fraction of the team that would have been required a few years ago.

But something interesting happens when building becomes cheap.

The bottleneck moves.

The scarce resource is no longer writing code. It’s understanding reality.

## Can you identify a real problem?

## Can you find customers?

## Can you uncover what they actually need instead of what they say they need?

## Can you build distribution before someone else builds the same thing?

Many founders are discovering that AI solves the production problem. It does not solve the customer acquisition problem, the trust problem, the distribution problem, or the change-management problem.

The irony is that as AI democratizes creation, creation itself becomes less valuable.

The winners won’t be the people who can build the fastest.

They’ll be the people who understand reality the best.
