Sales and Data with AI
POV: Trying to save $132K in fees cost you $268K in lost earnings π 2x more money lost than saved π
I said in my last post as well that web checkout *conversions* are trash. And now we see it in the data across many apps (h/t revenuecat)
Put simply, for a app earning $1M/month from the US:
β IAP (15% fee): $850K net β Web checkout drops conversion ~40%, Stripe takes 3%: $582K net β You save $132Kβ¦ *and lose $268K* π¬
Why? β 50% vanish at login β 63% drop off at card entry
My current sense is that Appleβs likely to win a stay on the injunction. This window for external links is probably short-lived. (h/t David Barnard)
All of that said, with millions of users in the US, we at Muslim Pro used the moment to tighten our app β web handshake β where most of the drop-off happens. Also testing Apple Pay in web flows with a small US cohort. I suspect weβll breakeven with IAP at best though.
