What SerialHunt collects

The SerialHunt lookup and connector have no accounts, sell nothing and store no serial you check. Updated 7 October 2026.

The website

Pages load Google Analytics and BigBalli's own page-view counter. Together they record the pages viewed, including the address of a lookup and so the serial in it, how far down each page you scroll, the referring site, the browser and an approximate location. Google Analytics sets cookies for this, and the page-view counter keeps a random visitor identifier in your browser's storage for up to two years. The lookup itself stores nothing.

The connector

When an AI app such as Claude or ChatGPT uses the SerialHunt connector, it sends the tool name and its arguments: a serial number, a denomination, a series or a Federal Reserve district. The server uses them to answer and does not store them. It keeps a daily count of calls per tool and of which kind of app called (for example "Claude"), for 90 days, and mails that count to the site's owner. When a request fails, the owner is mailed the error, the tool name, the calling app and its IP address, never the arguments.

To limit abuse, the server keeps a hashed copy of the caller's IP address with the times of its requests for up to an hour. The conversation in the AI app stays with that app; SerialHunt never sees it.

Server logs

Like any web server, this one logs each request's IP address, time, address requested and browser for 14 days. Requests pass through Cloudflare, which handles them under its own privacy policy.
