Terms of use

These terms cover the SerialHunt lookup on this site and its connector for AI apps. Updated 7 October 2026.

What SerialHunt is

SerialHunt decodes US paper money serial numbers and reports how many star notes were printed in a run, from government production figures. It is informational and free, with no accounts. It does not value notes, and it does not judge whether a note is genuine; nothing here is an appraisal or a reason to buy or sell.

The figures

Production figures come from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing's monthly reports and, for older series, the uspapermoney.info archive of them. They are facts about what was printed. Reports are sometimes revised, sources sometimes disagree, and a few months are missing, so a figure can be wrong or absent.

Fair use

Use the site and the connector to answer questions about notes. Do not copy them in bulk, scrape them, or get around the connector's rate limits.

No warranty

SerialHunt is provided as is, and BigBalli is not liable for decisions made on its answers.
