The best AI for your business probably won’t be the smartest one
The best AI for your business probably won’t be the smartest one.
The big, powerful AI models will keep pushing the limits. But most businesses don’t spend their day pushing the limits.
They answer customer questions. Review documents. Prepare quotes. Update records. Follow up with leads. Chase invoices.
For that work, speed, cost and reliability matter a lot more than having the smartest model available.
Picture a simple pricing discussion.
One AI gets the job right 97% of the time and costs a few cents. Another gets slightly better results but costs 20x more.
Multiply that difference across thousands of tasks every month and suddenly “which AI is smarter?” is the wrong business conversation.
There’s another issue that matters even more.
If AI can send a refund, change a customer record or approve something without asking you first, who decides what it’s allowed to do?
That’s where I think many businesses will struggle.
The AI will keep getting cheaper and better.
Figuring out where you trust it, what it can touch, and when a human still needs to make the call will be the harder part.
